  • Smart and Shiney, owned by Lyle Lovett, is a stunning Palomino Stallion by Smart Shiner and out of Tronas Pearl standing at McQuay Stables in Tioga, Texas. Smart Shiner, NRHA Intermediate Open Derby Champion, NRBC Intermediate Open top five finisher, and AQHA Superior Reining horse during his show career, is by the legendary $2 Million Sire Shining Spark and out of Smart Hickory, producer of earners of over $550,000. Smart and Shiney’s Dam, Trona’s Pearl, is a producer of multiple greats. With royal bloodlines in both the Reining and Cow Horse arenas, Smart and Shiney was born with the potential to do great things- and he has certainly fulfilled the hopes of his breeders and owners.

    At the start of his show career, Smart and Shiney earned a place in the 2006 NRHA Open Futurity Finals, taking a spot in the top twelve with Tim McQuay at the reins. In 2007, he performed again, earning NRHA Open Derby Finals honors. He was the NRHA Cowboy Capitol Classic Open Derby Champion in 2008, also earning a top ten finish in the NRHA Open Derby. As a six year old, he was the NRBC Open Prelim Co-Champion, also finishing in the top ten in the finals. As a member of Team Italy, Smart and Shiney helped earn a Team Bronze Medal at the 2010 World Equestrian Games. His show career brought him total earnings of over $151,000.

    Smart and Shiney has been siring greatness since his very first foal crop. To name a few, Shiney Enterprise was an NRBC Non Pro Reserve Champion, Cowboy Capitol Classic Non Pro Derby Champion, NRHA Derby Non Pro Finalist and earner of $72,924. KR Billy Bob was an NRHA Open Futurity Finalist, Scottsdale Classic Open Futurity Reserve Champion, High Roller Reining Classic Open Derby Reserve Champion, AQHA World Championship Show Junior Reining Top Ten finisher, and earner of $33,950.

    Shiney Little Queen, an NRHA Open Futurity Level 3 and 2 third place finisher and NRHA Open Futurity Finalist, One HOT Futurity Open Level 4, 3, and 2 Champion, earned over $50,850 during her three year old year; Shine N Money placed in the top 5 in the NRHA Non Pro Futurity Level 3 and the Heritage Futurity Non Pro Level 3 and 4, also placing in the top 10 in the Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity Level 3 Non Pro and the Tulsa Reining Classic Non Pro Futurity Level 3, earning over $15,000 during her three year old year. Designed with Shine, also a three year old in 2014, was the Reining By the Bay Open Futurity Reserve Champion, AZRHA Best of the West Open Reining Futurity Level 3 and 4 Open Champion, and earner of over $13,600 in her three year old year. Total earnings for Smart and Shiney’s foals is currently over $272,000, leaving him with average offspring earnings of an incredible $12,142!

    You are bidding for one 2020 stallion breeding contract donated to CNYRHA by the owner/agent for the 2020 Northeast Breeders Trust Stallion Auction.

    *This contract entitles you to only one embryo if an embryo transfer is being done. If multiple embryos are flushed and used, then the purchaser must contact the Stallion Owner/Agent immediately to arrange payment for the additional embryos.*

    All proceeds from the sale of this auction will go to CNYRHA to further develop the Northeast Breeders Trust Stallion Auction and Futurity.

    This 2020 Stallion Breeding contract is transferable to the mare owner/bidder who bids the highest amount for the 2020 breeding auctioned online with www.PerfectHorseAuctions.com beginning February 1, 2020 and ending February 09, 2020.

    The mare owner/bidder will be purchasing in full the 2020 breeding services of the stallion specified. The mare owner will be responsible to pay any and all charges/fees related to the execution of this contract including, but not limited to, veterinarian fees, chute fees, mare care and other expenses. CNYRHA is not responsible for any costs, expenses and/or charges related to execution of breeding contract by the breeding facility not contained or recorded in this contract. CNYRHA’s involvement in and responsibility for the 2020 Northeast Breeders Trust Stallion Auction terminates upon transfer of this contract to the mare owner/bidder. If the stallion dies before the said donated breeding occurs and no other comparable stallions are available to the purchaser, CNYRHA will reimburse the purchaser the full amount of the winning bid.


    This breeding is NON TRANSFERABLE and CANNOT be sold by the winning bidder to a third party.

    Payments are due 2 weeks after the close of the auction.
    Payments made by credit card will be charged an additional 3% processing fee.
    ***Failure to pay within the time specified MAY result in a forfeited bid and breeding can be sold to the back bidder.***

    GOVERNING LAW. This contract shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York except where the Federal supremacy clause requires otherwise.

    SUBMISSION TO JURISDICTION IN NEW YORK. Each of the parties hereto, to the extent it may do so under applicable law, hereby (a) irrevocably submits itself to the jurisdiction of the courts of the State of New York, inclusive of any small claims court, for the purposes of any suit, action or other proceeding arising out of this Agreement, the subject matter hereof or any of the transactions contemplated hereby brought by any party or parties hereto, or their successors or permitted assigns and (b) waives, and agrees not to assert, by way of motion, as a defense, or otherwise, in any such suit, action or proceeding, that the suit, action or proceeding is brought in an inconvenient forum, that the venue of the suit, action or proceeding is improper or that this Agreement or the subject matter hereof or any of the transactions contemplated hereby may not be enforced in or by such courts.

    NO ARBITRATION. Disputes involving this contract, including the breach or alleged breach thereof, may not be submitted to binding arbitration (except where statutorily authorized), but must, instead, be heard in a court of competent jurisdiction of the State of New York.

    SERVICE OF PROCESS. In addition to the methods of service allowed by the New York State Civil Practice Law & Rules ("CPLR"), each of the parties here to hereby consents to service of process upon it by registered or certified mail, return receipt requested. Service hereunder shall be complete upon actual receipt of process or upon the receipt of the return thereof by the United States Postal Service as refused or undeliverable. Buyer must promptly notify the Seller, in writing, of each and every change of address to which service of process can be made. Service to the last known address shall be sufficient. Served party will have thirty (30) calendar days after service hereunder is complete in which to respond.
